Uplift Provides Learning Centers

Uplift Education Serves Children of Front Line & Essential Workers

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced schools to adopt online distance learning, child care facilities across the nation followed suit closing their doors.

This left limited childcare options for parents deemed essential workers and their school-age children.

Uplift Education decided to partner with YMCAs in Dallas and Fort Worth to provide child care and supervised online learning for children whose parents worked on the front lines or were deemed essential.

As a result, 241 children were served in six Uplift Centers prior to school re-opening in October of 2020. Uplift’s Childcare Learning Centers ensured that students had a safe place to participate in remote learning every day with access to technology, reliable internet, and adult assistance as well as breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

The Rees-Jones Foundation was intent on contributing toward Uplift’s creative solution that allowed parents to maintain their employment while their children were able to continue learning.
