President of The Rees-Jones Foundation Announces Retirement
After almost 19 years working with the Rees-Jones family and The Rees-Jones Foundation, I have decided that it is time for me to retire, effective at the end of this year. It has been the most amazing time in my life. Words are not adequate to express my gratitude to Jan and Trevor and to all of the Rees-Jones family, all of my colleagues here in the family’s offices and at the Foundation and importantly to all of the many partner organizations and individuals with whom I have been so privileged to work over this long period of time. My work with the Foundation, in particular, has enabled me to work in an environment, and with mission and purpose that has aligned completely with what I perceive God’s call on my life to have been. Serving Him by serving others in our community has been the most affirming experience I could have imagined and the relationships that have been created along the way have given me a greater and greater sense of the ways in which each member of the body of Christ works for the good of the whole.
In addition, I am honored, privileged and excited to announce that Terese Stevenson will succeed me as President of the Foundation, beginning January 1, 2026. Terese and I have served together for all of these 19 years and there is no one better qualified to take on whatever additional roles come with this new title. When you have a moment, please extend your congratulations and encouragement to her.
We all have been blessed by teams of people who are extremely well qualified to carry on the good work of our organizations, even as individuals transition in and out. I have complete confidence in our team here at The Rees-Jones Foundation to make this a smooth and seamless transition, although I will miss my daily interactions tremendously. All of us here at the Foundation are committed to service and loving our neighbors, and now look forward to many more years of working with you. My prayers will be with you all.
Very sincerely yours,
Thornton Hardie, III
