The Rees-Jones Foundation aspires to serve God by serving others through compassionate philanthropy. This includes providing assistance and resources for individuals and families affected by an intellectual or development disability (IDD). Impressively, society is moving in a more positive direction toward inclusion, and as this continues, The Foundation will continue to use its resources to help provide non-typical individuals and their families with access and funding for needed services and opportunities for enrichment experiences.
A few of the service areas in North Texas that The Foundation currently funds include:
- IDD assessments and early intervention: Child Study Center and The Warren Center.
- Customized education: Chase’s Place, Dallas Academy, Notre Dame School, Oak Hill Academy, and Rise School of Dallas.
- Social enrichment and spiritual development: Capernaum Young Life, Camp Summit, Dream Park, and Rise Adaptive Sports.
- Life/behavior skills training and independent living: Advocates for Special People, Association for Independent Living and Green Oaks School.
- Customized job training and employment: Best Buddies and My Possibilities.
- Family supports: H.E.R.O.E.S. and Joni and Friends.
*Note: The above is not a complete list. Also, many of these organizations offer services in overlapping categories. Please contact these and other organizations directly for specific service inquiries.
In addition to North Texas nonprofits, there are a limited number of IDD-serving organizations we support internationally, such as:
- Therapies and medical care: Bethany Kids, CURE International, Kupenda, and Mercy Ships.
