Grant Guidelines
- The Foundation’s Board is strongly guided by
the Foundation’s Mission Statement. Proposals should explain
how the organization and program or project is consistent with that
Statement.
- Proposals must contain a description of the proposed
program or project, including a statement of the need, specific program
components, logistics, goals, projected benefits or numbers of people
to be affected, and plans for evaluating the effectiveness of the program
or project.
- Proposals must include the names of the executive officers
and members of the Board of Directors of the requesting organization,
aggregate board financial contributions to the organization for the
prior 12 months, financial information of the organization including
operating budget, project budget, amounts and sources already committed
to project, other possible funding sources, and most recent audited
financial statement (or if no audit, certified by the organization’s
chief executive or financial officer).
- Proposals must include a copy of the organization’s
current IRS exemption letter and most recent IRS Form 990 federal tax
return. The Foundation does not support other private foundations.
Applicants that are classified as “supporting organizations” must
provide additional documentation as set forth in the Foundation’s
Grant Application.
- In general, the Foundation will not fund more than
25% of a project’s budget or more than 10% of an organization’s
total annual operating budget.
- In general, the Foundation will not make multi-year
commitments.
- Proposals should be submitted a minimum of 4 months
before funds are required.
- The Foundation will consider only one proposal from
any one organization during any 12 month period.
- Loans and grants are not made to individuals.
- Organizations previously funded by the Foundation must
provide a full report of previous grant expenditures.
- In general, the Foundation does not support event fundraisers
or sponsorships, or contribute to endowments.
- The Foundation does not support lobbying of any kind.
